Truth time: Those pics were not exactly for pure fanart purposes. From the start, they were audition pictures, and I was sending each to Blizzard!
They didn't exactly like the first comics pages. They wanted a more obviously manga style for the Tokyopop book series they were publishing.
The second set had mecha and babes, speedlines and unlikely armor...
It worked! After 10 months of no-yes-no-yes answers and having hope painfully flare up and die down now and again, they confirmed that I will be pencilling a story for Starcraft Battlefront book 4! This is the last book in the set, I believe, so I just barely made it!
I was a bit overwhelmed with the news, and was rushed quickly onto the pencils. I just finished the layouts doing the research and prep work. The reality of the situation just set in today after I finished pencilling the first page.
So, I'm pencilling a comic book! It has a nice poetic symmetry, due to the fact that I dropped out of Applied Physics and shifted to an arts course due to too much Starcraft.
The script is cool. I feel comfortable with every single element in the story... Except that I don't have a lot of time to draw it!
Time to research Adrenal Glands, Leg Enhancements, and Stim Packs. Gotta have Stim Packs.
