This might be the first comic page I've ever made that I'm confident doesn't quite suck. That said, though, please crit, for I am an illustrator used to color, and this is out of my traditional skillset... I have got to find a better way to draw distant people and cloth.
Page one was HARD! I designed almost every single object you see here before I added it onto the page.
I agonized over the fork! And I had to reasearch how to ink a piece of ham. I also had to learn to communicate without color. You'll notice tiny black fills under her chin and hairline which I have never needed before. I hope my speed improves, as this took several days of design and execution.
Well, the journey of 30-40 pages begins with a single upload.
I suppose this might be colored someday (as that is my core skill) but I want to hammer out most of the narrative before this touches a single pixel of color. (edit: ok, I added a rosy overlay just for some warmth)
I have to get 2 commissions done before I work on page 2, so be patient

I don't know why, but when I see this comic I think of an old Heinlein story in 'The Green Hills of Earth,' "-We Also Walk Dogs." But maybe its just me.
