A fantasy airship design for a commission in progress. The final image will be digitally painted, not 3d rendered, and so it's not very detailed right now.
The long steel spikes are steel enforced "bayonets", not rams, in theory to pin enemy vessels in place while it fires all its main guns into the breach.

only frontal canons?

I wonder if they would be more effective a la older ships.. full broadsides.. :O

and interesting concept.. I suppose these are just to "pin" hit and run type of attacks..

It does have a few broadside cannons (if you squint you might see them XD), but a lot smaller.
