This is a work I recently redid from something I made last year [link] , so it has a mixture of several different coloring techniques used side by side. Also, I was unhappy with the first version, so it received many corrections. Combined with the heavy use of 3d renders in the image, it ended up quite uneven in places. With all those revisions, I doubt I will ever be totally happy with this pic. Despite that, I think all the elements blend together nicely when the image is taken as a whole.
The depicted setting is ridiculous on purpose! No need to complain on how she can carry an enormous railgun, where the heat goes after the weapon is fired, etc. etc...
The beverage brand the characters are drinking, "C4", is a parody on a brand of flavored iced tea available in the Philippines.
She looks like an alternate version of Haruhara Haruko from FLCL. I remember in the second episode she mentioned being a "first class space patrol officer," and while it's not like you could take anything she said as absolute fact, one could interpret this as a scene from her life as an officer before jumping the rails to chase down Atomsk.

I mean seriously. It's completely obvious to *me* that the shooter is clearly a cyborg belying her body weight, also enabling her to carry the massive gun. And that tank on the front of the weapons is *clearly* part of a liquid gas based coolant system!
