Fanart of Junji Ito's manga GYO. This is my official SCARY ART for Halloween! 
Although Uzumaki was smarter and more sophisticated, Gyo is way more viceral and compelling, in my opinion. Don't believe reviewers who just read the first book and said the story was about fish.
5 hours digital speedpainting, surprisingly without pre-planning. You've seen me use this quick, messy monochromatic style for monster designs. This is my first use of it for a complete scene.
I decided to draw this because for two nights in a row after reading the manga, my dreams were filled with gas-spewing scuttling undead monstrosities.
This is just my attempt to internalize the imagery in the manga so I won't see them WHEVEVER I CLOSE MY EYES GET OUT OF MY MIND GET OUT OF MY MIND
