"Remember, the enemy gate is down."

Production notes: A pic I did based on the novel "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card written in the late seventies that may have influenced a LOT of anime imagery. The officers in the background are Rackham, Graff, and Anderson. The fourth is a space-filling extra.

As for the starships, I made sure they didn't fall victim to the 2d thinking of most sf ship design, like in Star Wars, etc. where they have all the guns and interesting things on one side of the craft, like a naval vessel! It makes no sense. So, the Hive Queen fleet ships are symmetrical on 6 sides, and the IF ships are symmetrical on 4 sides. They only have a front and a back, not a "deck" and a "hull".

The hero is supposed to be 11. My sister works with kids and assures me that this is what an eleven year old kid with military training would look like.

Edit: uploaded the original version with the smaller head that my sister likes. I hope he passes for an 11 year old...

This portrays the scene perfectly. I don't really remember him crying, but it's a nice touch. I love the ships designs. I think your idea was great. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for alien ships to have the same design as our ships at home. This is a fantastic rendition of the most important part of a great novel.

Gahh! This picture makes me want to go back and read it again, but I don't own the book! *faints*

Wow, that's really amazing. :) Skillfully done and I love your depiction of Ender. The bandaging on his hand, his expression, his clothing--all expressing the same mood that is so accurate to the book. Also, Maezr and the other spectators are a great touch. I heart Ender. XD
